FISHING FORECAST
~ St. Andrews Bay Area ~
September 1, 2010

The water temperature has dropped, large speck bite has been good and they are full of roe. They will be on the spawning areas. Look for spotted bottoms and fish in 4' to 6' of water. Jig a SS Minnow on the bottom with a 1/8 ounce jig head or under a float -- Rainbow Plastic adjustable works well. Also the reds have showed up and are biting the same bait. Fish the shallows on full tide. Give me a call, I have some dates open in September. Let's go fishing! Scallops are still plentiful in St. Joe Bay. The water is a little murky, visibility better on full tide. Season closes September 12th.

Captain Roy Ray, has been fishing the bays and inlets of Bay County, Florida for nearly 70 years. In that time he has earned the title of "King of the Bays" from the local fishermen who view him as an expert in the sport of Redfish, Flounder, and Speckled Trout fishing.

"Panhandle Outdoors with Captain Roy & the Coach" can be seen every weekday morning at 5:30 am on Panama City's WPGX Fox 28. The program features interviews with local outdoorsmen and videos of recent trips as well as a lot of practical advice on hunting and fishing. In addition to his TV program, Captain Roy also presents a radio fishing forecast at 7:30 am and 11:00 am on WLTG AM 1430. Captain Roy has been featured on several local TV programs and regularly appears at various outdoors and youth events.

In 1994 Captain Roy began marketing his own speckled trout lure based on a design which has been in his family for over 50 years. The "Ray's Speck Special" has since become a favorite of local fisherman due to its incredible appeal to specks and redfish alike.

Captain Roy also offers a bayfishing guide and charter service at a very reasonable price. Everything is provided and no fishing license is required.  There is no time limit on the charters and a great time of fishing and fellowship is guaranteed. Capt.
